When can I see the school?

Holy Trinity’s Shadow Days are offered on Tuesdays and Fridays in from September to April. Current 7th- or 8th-grade students accompany an HT freshman to class, meet teachers and students, and have lunch on us.

At an Open House, your family can tour Holy Trinity, meet faculty and staff, learn about the school’s academic programs, sports, clubs, traditions, and more. In addition, prospective families are always welcome to join us for athletic games and other school events.

How do I apply?

All interested 8th-grade students must take the Entrance Exam. In addition, each student must submit an application and his or her 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade records. If you wish to apply for need-based support, please submit a completed Financial Assistance application, with copies of your most recent W2 forms, pay stubs (two), and income tax files. Learn more about applying and download the forms.

When is the registration deadline?

Students are highly recommended to complete all registration documents and submit the $150 fee by March.

What entrance exam does Holy Trinity offer?

Along with all other Catholic high schools in Chicago, Holy Trinity offers the Scholastic Testing Service, Inc.’s High School Placement Test (HSPT). You only need to take the HSPT once; if you’ve taken it already at another school, you may request to have your score forwarded to Holy Trinity.

How can I prepare for the entrance exam?

The best preparation is working hard and keeping up in grade school. Students must bring #2 pencils and $25 for the test fee. Petersons, Barrons, and Princeton Review all publish study guides for the HSPT, which are available at bookstores and public libraries.

Do I have to be Catholic to attend Holy Trinity?

No. We have a large population of students who are not Catholic and consider ourselves an ecumenical community. You will be required to take four years of theology and attend all school Masses, but you will not be required to become a Catholic.

What is the tuition at Holy Trinity?

Does HT offer scholarships?

Yes, Holy Trinity offers a wide variety of academic (merit-based) scholarships, as well as need-based financial assistance. In addition, we partner with numerous scholarship organizations. What is demonstrated need?

Need-based tuition assistance is defined as the difference between the total amount a family can be expected to contribute based on their financial situation and the cost of tuition.

What time does the school day start and end?

The school day begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at just before 3 p.m. most days. On Thursdays, students may be dismissed early unless there is a mass or assembly. For details, click here.
