Senior Natalie Nieves is Holy Trinity’s first ever Questbridge Scholar, receiving a full, four-year scholarship to Wellesley College.

oly Trinity High School is proud to announce Natalie Nieves ’18 as the school’s first-ever recipient of the prestigious QuestBridge College Match Scholarship. Natalie is receiving a full, four-year scholarship to Wellesley College worth more than $200,000, covering the cost of attendance including tuition, fees, room and board, books, supplies and travel expenses.

“This QuestBridge scholarship means the world to my mother and me,” says Natalie. “It truly signifies that our hard work has paid off.” That hard work began four years ago, when Natalie entered Holy Trinity as an Audrey Raitt Scholar and member of Holy Trinity’s B-STEM Honors cohort. She quickly set her sights on attending an Ivy League college.

With that goal in mind, Natalie has made the Principal’s List, Holy Trinity’s top academic award, every year while undertaking a rigorous class schedule, including four AP courses. She also demonstrated excellence beyond the classroom as captain of the Debate Team, director of the Gospel Choir, a principal musician in the band and a member of the National Honors Society. Natalie has received numerous awards for exhibiting excellence at Holy Trinity.

“All of us at Holy Trinity High School are incredibly proud of Natalie’s accomplishments; her leadership, personal integrity, commitment to excellence in all she does, and dedication towards pursuing excellence in academics,” says Principal Marianne Lynch. “Throughout her four years here, Natalie has exemplified what it means to be a Holy Trinity scholar in both heart and mind, and this award is a fitting reward for her hard work. We know Natalie will continue to make her school family proud when she joins the women of Wellesley next fall.”

Natalie says her experiences at Holy Trinity have well prepared her for Wellesley, where she plans to major in Political Science. “Wellesley is a perfect fit for me because I am so used to a close-knit, family school like Holy Trinity. I am looking forward to the challenging and unique classes Wellesley offers as one of the best schools in the country.”

After college, Natalie plans to work in government. In the meantime, she is grateful for the many people who are helping her achieve her goals. “I would like to thank my mother as well as my excellent teachers and staff at Holy Trinity, who have supported me during my application process,” says Natalie.
