Attention HT Seniors -- Read This Now In Order to Make a Smooth Transition to College in the Fall

HT Seniors --

You are our fifth consecutive graduating class to achieve 100% college acceptance. Congratulations! Please make sure  to check off each item on the following list in order to make a smooth transition to college in the fall.

  • Remember to send your fall college choices to Sister Jan by May 1st.

  • Respond to your FAFSA college financial aid package

  • Make an appointment for your placement test

  • Send completed dorm registration forms to your college

American Red Cross Blood Drive Scheduled for Friday, April 23

Have you saved a life lately? How about THREE lives?

Did you know that with ONE pint of blood that you can save up to THREE lives?

It's time again to welcome the American Red Cross to Holy Trinity. They will be here on Friday, April 23, in Room 102. If you are 16-years-old or older, you are eligible to donate blood. You must make an appointment to do so. Ms. Van Skiver will be in the cafeteria to sign you up. If you are 17-years-old or older, you may sign up on your own. Please see Ms. Van Skiver with any questions.

Attention Seniors Who Plan to Attend Community College -- Apply for Support from the Illinois Education Foundation

HT Seniors -- the Illinois Education Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2010-11 Signature Scholars Cohort.

This program supports community college students as they  pursue their personal and professional goals. Graduating seniors with a 2.0 GPA or higher may apply if they plan to pursue their first degree or certificate at one of the seven community colleges in Chicago.

HT Lady Tigers Track Team Starts Seasons Strong

On Saturday, March 20, the Lady Tigers Track Team competed in the GCAC Indoor Championship meet. All participants gained valuable experience throwing and running against their conference rivals. Dominique Cherry placed 12th in the shot with a throw of 24'5". Penny Driver also finished 12th in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.57 seconds. Penny also competed in the 200 meter dash along with Elisha Swayze, where the finished 14th and 19th, respectively. Princess Burnett finished 15th in the 400 meter sprint, circling the track in 72.36 seconds.

HT Speech Team Participates in IHSA Competition

The HT Speech team would like to acknowledge all members who recently competed in the IHSA Group Interpretation competition at Reavis High School in Burbank. Although HT did not advance to the State Finals, the team delivered terrific performances and earned high praise from the judges. Dyllon Young '11 received an all-cast ribbon for his performance.

Sophomores -- Get the Education Edge at Dominican University This Summer

Attention Sophomores --

Dominican University has developed a summer program just for you. The Education Edge program is now accepting applications, and you can get one from Mr. Baisden in the Counseling Center.

The program includes sports activities, scholarship searches, introduction to the college admissions process, and getting ready for the ACT. The program is free, but you must apply by April 30, 2010, to be accepted into the program.

Any interested sophomore should see Mr. Baisden.

Financial Aid Application Deadline for 2010-11 is March 30

Attention HT students and prospective students! Financial aid application materials should have been mailed to your home this week. If you still need financial aid application materials, or require additional copies, please stop by the Development office in Room 106 and see Ms. Daly right away! The final deadline for 2010-11 financial aid applications is March 30, 2010.
