What are your hobbies?
Watching television, playing video games and sports. Kurterry plays basketball and flag football, and he is best known for track and field.
What was the last book you read?
The last book I read was Beowulf, for Mr. Joseph's British literature class. It was probably not one of my favorites, but I enjoyed that it was action filled.
What was the last movie you saw?
The last movie I saw was "Curse of Chuckie." I love scary movies!
What is your favorite TV show?
I love to watch "Falling Sky." It's about aliens trying to take over the world, and I find it interesting after a long day at school.
What was your last accomplishment?
I recently received my first college acceptance, to Holy Cross College.
What's a fun fact about you?
I'm obsessed with the color blue. Everything I buy, I try my best to make sure it's blue. Headphone, jackets, shirts, shoes, even candy!
What is your favorite quote?
I have a lot of inspirational quotes that help me in life. My most useful quotes are "practice is everything," and "Practice makes perfect." I love these quotes because they keep me motivated when I am practicing for sports.
What is your favorite class?
Algebra II. I love math and want to continue my love for math by going to school for accounting.
Who is your favorite teacher?
I have had a lot of great teachers throughout school, but my most inspirational teacher is Ms. Newsome, my art teacher.
Who are your mentors?
One of my mentors is Mr. Heard, my mentor for my summer internship, which I got throught the Corporate Experience class. He wasn't just any mentor; he took me to a Jay-Z concert!
How has HT helped you reach your goals?
Holy Trinity has given me opportunities I couldn't get anywhere else. For example, I recently received a letter asking me to represent Illinois at a track meet in Australia during the summer of July 2014, because of my performance for HT's track and field team. Opportunities like that don't just pop up everyday.
When did you know Holy Trinity was the right high school for you?
At Freshman Retreat, I felt a sense of family and a strong bond between the students.
What do you love most about HT?
I like a lot about Holy Trinity, but the one thing I love is the friendships that I've developed over the years. I've met lifetime friends here.
