Resource Learning Center
The two main goals of the Sister Rita Joras Resource Learning Center (RLC) are to assist students with the academic challenges presented by the curriculum at Holy Trinity and to assist teachers in their efforts to continually challenge students. RLC tutors are prepared to help any student at any time with any subject. The RLC serves as a computer lab, writing center, and tutoring center, with enthusiastic tutors and a welcoming, productive environment. The recently opened Writing Lab offers students extra help with writing papers, preparing essays, and critiquing creative writing.
Students may utilize the RLC before school starting at 7 a.m., during homeroom, and after school until 4:30 p.m. Students use the RLC for extra tutoring or to get a jump on their evening assignments. Throughout the day, at least one tutor is available at all times to assist students of all grade levels and all abilities with all subjects.
Teachers may also use the RLC during their class periods for research assignments, or they may assign students to visit the RLC as part of a homework assignment or for small-group work. Teachers also supply RLC tutors with class materials for extended post-class tutorial experiences.
The RLC is generously supported by the Chicago Community Trust. We thank them for their sponsorship of this important initiative.
