Student Life




The HT student is accepted based on determination to succeed, desire to learn, entrance exam scores, primary school records, and a demonstrated ability to successfully complete our four-year curriculum.
The HT student belongs to a tight-knit community, united in a shared purpose, building lifelong friendships.
The HT student is a graduate of one of more than 140 public, private, or parochial primary schools across Chicago.
The HT student lives in one of more than 40 ZIP codes, from such diverse neighborhoods as Austin, Bucktown, Garfield Park, Pilsen, and Wicker Park, among many others.
A Day in the Life...
7:50 AM. First bell rings. Go to your locker to drop off coat and extra books.
8:00-9:28. Block A. Algebra I. Concentrate... hard.
9:29. Run back to your locker to get your Spanish homework.
9:32-10:56. Block B. Spanish I. Que bueno.
11:00-11:30. Block C. Homeroom. Rush back to your locker to get your reading assignment.
11:34-12:04. Lunch! Chow down.
12:08-1:32. Block D. Geography. Stay after class to ask the teacher a question.
1:36-3:00. Block E. Computers. Work a little longer in the computer room researching a term paper on the Internet.
3:15. Stop by the Resource Learning Center for a little extra tutoring to ace your Algebra exam tomorrow.
3:45 Catch the bus home. Read a little Anna Karenina on the ride.
