HT Track & Field Shows Improvement at Wildcat Invitational

The HT Tigers Track & Field team competed in the Wildcat Invitational at Luther North High School on April 27, where the team demonstrated significant improvement.

The Lady Tigers 400-meter relay team of Kiyonna Perse, Elisha Swayze, Princess Burnett, and Penny Driver opened the scoring by finishing 1st in the event. In the shot put, Dominique Cherry finished 3rd and Jessica Babel finished 5th, with Jessica improving her personal record with her first throw of more than 21 feet.

On the track, Marcus Dukes finished 2nd in the 100-meter hurdles and Penny Driver finished 3rd in the 100-meter sprint. Marcus improved his time to also finish 2nd in the one lap sprinnt, while Princess and Kayla Mitchell finished 2nd and 3rd in the same event on the ladies' side.

Penny also claimed 2nd place in the half-lap sprint, with Elisha closing out the Tigers scoring with a 5th place finish in the same race.
