HT Lady Tigers Track Team Starts Seasons Strong

On Saturday, March 20, the Lady Tigers Track Team competed in the GCAC Indoor Championship meet. All participants gained valuable experience throwing and running against their conference rivals. Dominique Cherry placed 12th in the shot with a throw of 24'5". Penny Driver also finished 12th in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.57 seconds. Penny also competed in the 200 meter dash along with Elisha Swayze, where the finished 14th and 19th, respectively. Princess Burnett finished 15th in the 400 meter sprint, circling the track in 72.36 seconds. Jessica Babel, competing in her first meet, also performed well in the J.V. shot put. Finally, the quartet of Kiyonna Perse, Elisha Swayze, Princess Burnett, and Penny Driver won their heat of the 4 x 200 meter relay. Congratulations to the Lady Tigers Track Team for their efforts and a good start to the season. The next competition for the Lady Tigers runners will be the Luther North Invitational in April.
