The Impact of Our Donors
In upholding the Holy Cross tradition of serving students in greatest financial need, we keep our tuition as low as possible in order to serve families who frequently live at economic disadvantage. More than 90% of Holy Trinity students qualify for financial assistance, with more than $1.5 million in financial assistance, academic scholarships, and other aid awarded annually to help families to pay tuition and fees.
For the 2009-10 academic year, our annual tuition of $6,700 covers about 53% of the actual cost per student. The remaining 47% is raised as part of our General Operating Fund. Tuition payments from families amount to about 28% of our overall operating budget. Outside scholarship agencies contribute another 21%, with Holy Trinity raising the remaining 51% as part of fundraising from individuals, corporations, foundations, and building revenue.
As a private, Catholic secondary school, Holy Trinity operates with minimal public funding. We do not receive funding from the Archdiocese of Chicago and receive only minimal financial support from the Brothers of Holy Cross. Holy Trinity is a not for profit charitable organization according to section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Without our generous donors many Holy Trinity students could not afford the quality, Catholic education they deserve. The individuals, corporations, and foundations who support Holy Trinity are making a good investment in not only our school, but also in our students, for whom a Holy Trinity education offers the promise of a better life.
