The Fresh Kitchen is very proud to have on board Chef Surge Sherman, who has been a professional chef for more than 30 years. His experise and knowledge of food helps create diverse and cultural foods for our students. Chef has worked in many states, including Louisiana and Florida, and now resides in Chicago with his wife.
Elvira is our head prep cook. She has been with the Fresh Kitchen for more than a year. Her vast knowledge and talent is a major component to our success. She not only works in the kitchen, but serves the students on a daily basis with a smile!
Keisha Bryant, a newly graduated culinary student from the Food Depository, was hired on the first day of the 2009 school year. Keisha is a full time prep cook and our head pastry chef. She also runs the register station during our lunch service. We are happy to have her join our team!
