September 15 is a remarkable date for Holy Trinity High School and Holy Cross.
- On September 15, 1910, HT opened its classroom doors for the first time. In other words, it’s our birthday!
- September 15 is the annual feast day for Our Lady of Sorrows, the patron saint of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
- On September 15, 2007, Blessed Basile Moreau was beatified.
To recognize our legacy on this important date, the Holy Trinity High School community celebrated its annual HT Day on Friday, September 15, 2017. We welcomed ten Holy Cross brothers onto campus for a morning mass followed by a time of sharing by Br. Kenneth Haders, CSC. Br. James VanDyke then led the school in a new prayer, developed by teachers and to be shared with other Holy Cross schools.
The brothers visited classrooms in the morning, interacting with students and teachers, then joined the students for lunch, where the school body celebrated HT's birthday with cake, singing and a selfie station.
Thanks to all who helped HT celebrate 107 years of life-changing education for Chicago’s youth.
