Girls' soccer team wins first-ever regional title

Holy Trinity beat Timothy Christian in a shoot-out (2-1) for the Timothy Christian Regional Championship Friday evening.

Through regulation time, the score remained 0-0. Then in the OT, the Lady Tigers outscored the hosts to win 2-1. Goals were scored by Fatima Olaitan and Karol Gonzalez. Sakayah Garity secured the win with four saves in the shoot-out.

HT improves to 16 wins, one loss and two ties on the season.

The Lady Tigers will now move on to the sectional semifinal to be played next Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 5 p.m. at Immaculate Conception in Elmhurst.
