CLUBs

A.R.T.S. (Arts Reaching To Society)
A.R.T.S. is made up of a group of students who work to bring art into the school community. A.R.T.S. activities include student run art exhibits, field trips to local art museums and cultural events.

Ambassadors' Club

Black Students Umoja (B.S.U.)
B.S.U. promotes pride, unity and self-awareness. Students participate in cultural awareness, black history assemblies, fundraiser events, and social gatherings.

The Center
The Center, an organization committed to the hip-hop community, gives urban youth an opportunity to showcase rhyming and free styling composition skills amidst a nurturing environment. The Center is connected to the Poetry Club featuring talented poets that support The Center and its values. We host urban arts, break dancing, and rapping. The Center attempts to break from the commercial and misogynist view of much of mainstream hip-hop culture. The Center is free and open to anyone.

Chess Club

Clay Club
Clay Club is open to students who have successfully completed the ceramics course and would like to continue working with clay, Students have the opportunity to build on previous skills and learn new techniques, including throwing on the wheel. The club is treated like an open studio so that those involved can experiment and create whatever their imaginations envision.

C.O.R. (Catholic Schools Opposing Racism)
C.O.R. is a citywide community of young adults who work to break down the walls of Racism and promote Peace and Justice.

Drama Club
Drama Club is open to all students interest in all aspects of producing plays and musical shows. Students explore the areas of dancing and singing as well as constructing sets and organizing the lighting and sound.

Holy Trinity Women in Action (HTWA)
Holy Trinity Women in Action's mission is to increase the educational awareness on the topics that impact the young women in our school along with service projects tailored to serving women in our community. Some of our activities have included volunteering at the Chicago Women's REST Shelter in Edgewater, Breast Cancer Network of Strength Walk, and hosting a nurse guest speaker to discuss women's health issues. The club meets Wednesdays in the most aesthetic room in the school, the Holy Trinity Chapel.

National Honor Society
National Honor Society is an organization open to juniors and seniors who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above and who demonstrate excellence in leadership, service and character. Candidates who meet these criteria are selected for membership to this organization by a committee of faculty members.

Newspaper
The newspaper is the extra-curricular activity that produces The Gold and Blue, HT's student newspaper. Students write articles, take photos, learn layout and design, solicit advertising, and learn about the art and business of journalism. The newspaper is open to all Holy Trinity students.

Pet Club
Pet Club is open to all students who love animals! Activities include caring for our classroom pets and attending field trips to zoos and nature centers. We also raise money for and volunteer at animal shelters in the city.

Poetry Club
The Poetry Club gives students an opportunity to express themselves in all forms of creative use of language, written and oral, poetry and prose. It is open to all HT students. In addition, every year the poetry club sends a team of performance poets to "Louder than a Bomb," the city-wide poetry slam competition. HT was the first Chicago-Area Catholic school (and until recently, the only one) to participate in this event.

Reading Club

Student Organization of Latinos (S.O.L.)
S.O.L. represents the Latino student to the school community and provides a forum
in which students can express their opinion, culture, and background. It coordinates student activities and promotes school unity through school spirit and pride.


Student Government
Student membership includes leadership retreats, school activities, fundraisers, food and toy drives, and peer counseling.

Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.)

Virtual Tigers
Virtual Tigers participates in a wide variety of gaming such as PC games, console games and strategy games.
