The Brother Philip R. Smith Scholarship gives local elementary school students the chance to continue learning in a challenging, values-based environment at Holy Trinity. Simply put, it makes a good high school education a reality for lower-income families. Today at Holy Trinity, we strive to bridge the tuition gap for young men and women who display character and potential as they move from elementary school to high school. Without this scholarship, many would be denied a quality college preparatory education.

How are the Br. Phil Scholarship students selected?
Elementary school principals and directors from designated feeder schools and institutions select five of their 8th grade students who will attend Holy Trinity. These students must possess a strong academic ability to learn, demonstrate high moral character and respect for others, and try to make a positive impact in the world. They must also maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average.

How many students receive this scholarship?
Currently, there are more than 50 Br. Phil Scholars at Holy Trinity.

How can I support the scholarship?
If you decide to support a Br. Phil Scholar, contributions are accepted at any level. Please know that Br. Phil Scholars receive a $2,000 award toward their tuition for each of the four years they attend Holy Trinity.
