Frequently Asked Questions
The primary objective of
the Summer Internship is to provide Holy Trinity students with insight
and understanding of business and career opportunities through
firsthand exposure to a quality, professional work environment.
What are the
benefits to my organization?
* Responsible, achievement-oriented interns.
* Structured, effective program for corporate civic leadership.
* Opportunity for direct employee involvement and mentorship.
* Potential for long-term employee/employer relationship.
How are interns
chosen?
Interns are selected competitively among Holy Trinity students who are
completing
their Junior year. Holy Trinity chooses students for
participation in the program based on academic achievement, expressed
commitment to career development and demonstrated leadership skills.
What kind of
jobs?
The employer designs the position and responsibilities. The job
should fill an actual organizational need while providing substantive
experience for a high school level student within the professional
work setting at the company.
How
long does the internship last?
Nine to eleven weeks. Holy Trinity has an eleven-week summer
break beginning in June and ending in mid August.
Specific weeks of employment should be agreed
upon between the
employer and the intern at the beginning of the summer.
How
do I get my intern?
In the spring, each
employer will be asked to interview up to three internship candidates.
The employer will rank the students in order of preference.
Every effort
will be made to match employer preferences and the long term career
interests of the intern.
